An Easter activity in a shopping centre, told as an egg hunt

An Easter weekend in a shopping centre works when families have a reason to walk to the next shop. Game Is Serious writes that reason as a story they follow on a phone.

What an Easter weekend usually is

  • A flyer and a plastic egg.
  • A host who has to stand in the atrium all day.
  • A map with no story.

What the egg hunt is

  • Three to eight stops, each at a shop you choose.
  • A phone browser. No app, no sign-up. A QR sign at each stop.
  • A code, a riddle, and a live poll whose results fill in on every phone.
  • English and German. It stays open with no one hosting.
  • Plan it from December to February. The story can change the next year.

Who builds it

200+ facilitated sessions since 2016, and public games that ran for weeks with no host.
